ARTICLE XVI: RATIFICATION |
|
|
| Whenever there is a collective bargaining agreement negotiated or renegotiated by the union and the employer, all qualified members working or having worked under the old agreement shall be eligible to ratify by secret ballot any new agreement that may be entered into. The Local's Management Council in consultation with the bargaining unit shall in each case determine the eligibility requirements and ratification voting procedure. A ratification vote shall be null and void unless the bargaining unit is fully informed of all the terms and conditions of the proposed agreement. No ballot to ratify or reject shall be cast until twenty-four hours has lapsed from introduction and discussion of the agreement. No ballot may be counted until one hundred percent of the bargaining unit has voted or until the twenty-four hour period has ended, whichever comes first. |
