Not satisfied with the nightclub
scene, she promoted her own concerts. She has enjoyed the privilege of working with some of the area’s finest musicians. Jazz pianist, Melba Pope, gets credit for having shaped
Kathleen’s soulful style. Together, they performed at Atlantic City’s “Brighton Casino” (later known as the Sands), “Mama Motts” and the former “Jockey Club”. She also co-hosted, with
Pope, a television talk show “Contact” on WCMC, in Wildwood, NJ. Kathleen continues to sing standards, light jazz and loves singing with the Gene Boney Big Band. Her latest stage show
entitled “Dear Mister Sinatra, You Made Me Love You” is a tribute to the great crooner and other songs of the Martini Era. Rosemary Clooney, Sara Vaughn, Barbara Streisand and Natalie
Cole influence her style.
After being voted performer of the year in
1982 by Atlantic City Magazine, Kathleen spent two years opening shows for such acts as James Darin, Rip Taylor, and Bobby Rydell at Palumbo’s Supper Club in Philadelphia, her talent
paid off. This rewarded her with an overseas tour at the Playboy clubs of Japan. While traveling in England, Spain, Portugal, and Italy, Kathleen was invited to perform in many local
nightclubs. Kathleen is respected in the business, which usually keeps her in great musical company. Her long list of personal appearances in top hotels, concerts, casinos, and dinner
theatre is impressive. Recent theater appearances include Dante Hall Performing Arts, (Atlantic City), the North Palm Beach Country Club (North Palm Beach, Florida) and a singing tour
on Royal Caribbean to Singapore, Thailand, Bombay and Dubai (May 2009)
Kathleen took a break from travel to assist with the opening of Cousin’s Country House Restaurants at the Jersey Shore. Kathleen’s regular appearances at Cousin’s Piano Bar gained the
“Best of the Shore” recognition by Atlantic City Magazine three years in a row (97, 98, 99). Cousin’s “Dickens Dinners,” and Murder Mysteries, created by Kathleen, became one of the
area’s most celebrated holiday traditions. Today, she is embarking on a new café style restaurant that will play host to area musicians and artists. Kathleen formed “Guardian Angel
Productions” in 2005 to help promote the ideas of individuals and non-profits organizations. Kathleen began to produce fundraising shows for the Jersey Shore Children’s Museum, the MAPS Foundation, and the Jersey Shore Jazz Vespers. Other recent positions as Director of Public
Relations for Boscov’s Department Stores, Director of the Atlantic City Art Center and Development Director of the Bay-Symphony Orchestra have added to her production experience. She
now serves on the boards of the Somers Point Jazz Society, and the Cape May Jazz Festival. Kathleen is regularly invited to MC and sing for local business functions. She has performed show/concerts for the Jersey Shore Jazz Vespers, Somers Point Jazz Festival, Dante Hall
Performing Arts Center, the Atlantic City Art Center and the Avalon Performing Arts Council. The New Jersey Association of American Mothers honored Kathleen for her accomplishments in
entertainment. Kathleen is proud to be Rotarian and mother of 14 year old son Vincent.
