Kevin C. Shelly - Bio 

The Derrydale Press printed Kevin Shelly's first book, the biography of sporting artist Lynn Bogue Hunt.  Field & Stream magazine listed it as one of the memorable outdoor books of 2003.  Gray's, Upland Almanac, Shooting Sportsman, Ruffed Grouse Society and Quail Unlimited also praised the book.

He is now at work on two books for Countrysport Press with artist Brett James Smith. 
Additionally, his work has appeared in:  Field & Stream, Wildfowl, Upland Almanac, Mid-Atlantic Sportsman, New Jersey Outdoors, Quail Unlimited, Wine Spectator, Philadelphia Magazine, New Jersey Monthly, Atlantic City Magazine. He reviews sporting books for the Upland Journal website.  His magazine work is anthologized and he has published a short story.
           
Kevin Shelly has worked as a journalist for more than 25 years. Since 1994 he's been assistant city editor to the Press of Atlantic City. He also served as the paper's environmental reporting coordinator for several years.  Prior to becoming an editor, he covered the casino industry, and has also worked as award-winning municipal, environmental, business and general assignment writer.  He has both investigative and project experience. He's been an award-winning columnist and reporter for the Ocean County Observer in Toms River, a correspondent for the Philadelphia Daily News, and reporter, restaurant reviewer and a columnist and reporter for The Sun - an Atlantic City twice weekly.

Kevin Shelly graduated from Davidson College as an English major, and resides in Absecon, New Jersey with his wife and daughter.  He is a former board member and past-president of the Press Club of Atlantic City, sponsor of the National Headliner’s Awards; former Headliners screening judge; a panelist on casino reporting at the Investigative Reporters and Editors National Conference, 1996, and an accomplished outdoorsman and cook.
