THE FALL

I knew that I had fallen,
We feel, we fall, I fell
When an angel sat beside me and said,
"You're too good to go to Hell!"

Let's take a ride together
And I think that you will see
That life can be much sweeter
Than you ever thought it could be.

So she wrapped her wings around me
held me warm and tight through the night
Until the anger deep inside me
Dissipated with the light.

My outlook did  a "180"
My entire life it spanned
I suddenly came to realize
It was my own soul I had banned

I'd closed the door on my own life
Opened it to insanity
Wrestled with my self respect
Got jaded, lost the key.

The angel's eyes shined brightly
And then I saw a tear
I asked, "Why are you crying?"
She said, "Since you ask - I'll share."

I cry for hope which burns eternal
And I pray that you will see
That when you give up on hope and love
You simply cease to be.

God gives us many choices
So come fly away with me
And I'll show you his beautiful Kingdom
And how wonderful life can be...
(the choice is yours, fly with the angels
or grovel with the goonies...)
