I obtained a doctorate in theology summa cum laude in Rome and days before World War II started, I became a priest. After serving in Italy for almost en years, I was sent to mission in South America. Eight years later, to mission for the Spanish speaking people in Camden, NJ. For more than 25 years, I served them. I loved and they returned the love. I helped their children to develop a rounded personality to work for a better future and learn to make America a land of their own. Now I am told that I am "retired." At 88 years of age and 66 of priesthood, I am still very active in religion, in art and human relations. + |
In the year 1968, I made a discovery. I could sculpt! I embraced it with all my enthusiasm and pursued it like a treasure long lost. I obtained a national award, several first prizes in local shows. I sculpt in the Greek manner, the young, the beautiful, the successful. My philosophy for religious sculptures is that every human value projects a spiritual meaning and every spiritual value is incarnated in human experience. I sculpt religious pieces to help non-religious to discover the legitimacy of their human values. I have been honored with many religious commissions and lucky to have them, not in churches, but outside. They are everybody's possessions. Your buying these pieces will be like nurturing a glorious tree from a small seed. I want to sell these pieces and their rights with them. It will give me new impetus and a few more happy years.
