Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
-
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as
early as possible to ensure our availability.
-
Do I have to pay for musical requests?
Tanzer Music arranges musical requests for free, provided we are given at least two months notice. If you make your
booking on short notice, we will still be able to accommodate
requests if they are already in our repertoire.
-
What if I need the musicians to perform overtime?
Should you require the musicians to continue performing after the
appointed finishing time, you would need to negotiate with the
musicians directly at that time, as Tanzer Music cannot
guarantee their availability. Overtime is calculated at the
first hour rate, and must be paid to the musicians before they
leave.
-
What if I need to change my booking?
Please advise us as soon as possible if you need to change the date,
time or venue of your booking. This may necessitate
arranging for different musicians to perform at your event.
-
Will I be refunded if I cancel my booking?
If a booking is canceled more than one month prior to the date of
the event, we will refund the balance and 75% of the deposit.
If the booking is canceled less than one month prior to the date of
the event, we will refund the balance but not the deposit.
-
Can the musicians attend a rehearsal?
If the event is a wedding, musicians do not normally attend
rehearsals. However, if you would like the musicians to attend
a rehearsal, normal hourly rates apply. If you are booking
musicians for a concert, a rehearsal on the day of the event can be
negotiated.
-
What equipment do I need to provide?
Microphones and amplification equipment will be provided by the
musicians, unless the venue is enormous, such as an open-air stage.
In this case, you are required to provide the necessary sound
equipment. If musicians are booked that are required to sit,
such as a string quartet, you will need to provide a sturdy, flat,
armless chair for each player. The musicians will provide
their own music stands. Before booking a pianist or organist,
please ensure that your venue provides the relevant instrument in
good working order.
-
What will the musicians wear?
Male and female musicians will wear appropriate formal attire for
daytime or evening bookings. This will include either tuxedo,
tails, or dinner suit for men, and elegant black attire for women,
depending on the specific type of booking.
-
When will the musicians arrive?
The musicians will arrive and set up at least 20 minutes prior to
the start time of your booking.
